I have found out that DSLR cameras can make great time lapse. So I went out one night and tried it out at intersection near by.

I have used:

Canon 7D with 18-55 II Lens

Manfrotto Tripod

DSLR bot

I had a bit of problem with cable got swung by wind and caused camera to shake. Other than that, I think it went well for the first attempt.

It gives me more control over how it look than using video camera and I quite like that part of feature.

I’ve also got some nice long exposure traffic photos while I was there.

I’ve got Canon 7D twin lens kit with 18-55 II and 55-250mm IS Lens recently. Those lenses might not be the perfect lenses, but they are giving me great opportunities to practice with the camera as I am a beginner to Digital SLR cameras. The reason I got this camera is to film my sister’s upcoming wedding. I have some experience with video cameras before but using Digital SLR camera to film is little different. So I’m trying to get feel of it and be ready before the wedding.

There are quite a few things I always wanted to try with DSLR camera, so I decided to try out and it’ll also help me get used to the camera. The first project is HDR Photography (High dynamic range photography). I’m still trying to find good composition and good setting for tone mapping, but here’s what I ended up so far.

I love infographics. National Geographic Magazine has published so many well designed infographics and I’m always amazed by them. Late last year, I was told about this vizualize.me, the website that can create your infographic resume. vizualize.me is a startup based in Toronto, Canada which is currently developing an online application that can automatically turn LinkedIn profile into an online infographic.

Though it is still a beta service, the impression I got was quite nice and has the potential to be useful. The graphics are automatically generated through logging in with Linkedin. You can edit, add, or remove some info. There are some themes you can choose from and you also can customise the background, colour, and fonts.

I like what it currently does. However, I don’t think I would use it as a resume I post or bring to companies I apply for a job. I feel that it is not quite informative enough to show your experience and skills yet. I think it is great for adding to your website and get attentions.

It is still quite fun to see what it can do with your data. I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops more. You can see my vizualize.me resume here.
